Jim Rubin has an extensive practice in all aspects of real estate, zoning and land use, public/private partnerships, construction and business law. Together with James Alley, Jim oversees much of the firm's estate planning practice. Understanding his clients' needs is paramount; only with that knowledge may Jim's negotiating skills and preparation of well-drafted documents be effective.

Over the last fifteen years, Jim has taught numerous continuing legal education courses on topics such as drafting purchase agreements, land title, survey and title insurance review, ethics, non-profit/501(c)(3) entities and estate planning. He is a graduate of the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University (B.S.B.A.) and the University of Illinois College of Law. Jim also served from 1992-1998 as Chair of the New Mexico State Bar’s Real Estate Specialty Committee.

In his spare time, Jim serves as a director (1988--) and president (2001--) of Rainbow House, an international adoption agency serving families in New Mexico and Colorado. He also coached youth soccer for thirteen years as well as track at St. Michael’s High School. Jim has been recognized by his peers in The Best Lawyers in America and is Martindale-Hubbell “AV” Peer Review Rated.
