Mr. Katz has practiced law in New Mexico since 1981. He is a graduate of the University of Colorado School of Law (J.D., Order of the Coif), Claremont Graduate School (M.A., 1974) and the University of Pennsylvania (B.A., cum laude,1971), and is admitted to practice in the States of New Mexico and Colorado.
He served as President of the First Judicial District of New Mexico Bar Association (1989) and is a former member of the Real Estate Specialty Committee of the New Mexico State Bar’s Board of Legal Specialization. Mr. Katz has also been a member and past Chair of the Board of Directors of the State Bar’s Business Law Section.

Mr. Katz has over 30 years’ experience in applying a results-oriented, creative approach to challenging New Mexico real estate and commercial transactions. Among significant accomplishments are public-private development and non-profit projects, and commercial, residential, historic area and mixed-use developments, including entitlement, financing, construction, leasing, historic preservation and conservation easement components.
