Ms. Ahern was licensed in New Mexico in 1978 and joined the firm in 2008.  She practices in the areas of real estate, development and commercial law.  Her clients include real estate developers, banking institutions, title insurance companies, title insurance underwriters, homeowners' associations, real estate brokers, and professional organizations interested in real estate issues.

Ms. Ahern has been involved in many civic activities including drafting committees for local land use regulations.  She has also been a member of local organizations interested in land use issues and economic development.

Ms. Ahern co-authored the New Mexico Condominium Act (based upon the uniform act) and the law review article:  Condominium Law:  The New Mexico Condominium Act, 15 New Mexico L. Rev. 203 (1985).  She has been active in drafting legislation related to state laws governing land subdivisions, development fees and real estate broker licenses and conducting seminars related to these issues and the condominium form of development. 

She is past chair of the Real Property, Probate and Trust Section of the State Bar of New Mexico.  Ms. Ahern is a member of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers.  Ms. Ahern has been recognized as a "Super Lawyer" in the Southwest and one of the "Best Lawyers of America".  She has been recognized as a leading lawyer in the Chambers USA guide.  She is also Martindale-Hubbell "AV" Peer Review rated.
